Law Day Video Contest

OFFICIAL RULES

1. All videos become the property of the Bar Association of Northern San Diego County ("BANSDC"). The contest is open to all residents of San Diego County. Videos submitted by Entrants 18 years old or younger must be submitted by parent or legal guardian. Proof of age and address will be required before prize is awarded. SELECTION OF THE WINNING VIDEO IS AT THE SOLE DISCRETION OF LAW DAY COMMITTEE OF THE BAR ASSOCIATION OF NORTHERN SAN DIEGO COUNTY.

2. Videos must be in the following format:

• No more than 100 MB
• Up to 640px X 480px
• Video Type: MOV, .AVI, .MPG, .WMV

3. Videos must meet the following requirements:

• Video cannot be sexually explicit or suggestive, unnecessarily violent or derogatory of any ethnic, racial, gender, religious, professional, sexual orientation or age group, profane or pornographic, or contain nudity;
• Video cannot promote alcohol, illegal drugs, tobacco, firearms/weapons (or the use of any of the foregoing), any activities that may appear unsafe or dangerous, or any particular political agenda or message;
• Video cannot be obscene or offensive, endorse any form of hate or hate group;
• Video cannot defame, misrepresent or contain disparaging remarks about the Bar Association of Northern San Diego County, or its membership, or other people, products or companies;
• Video cannot contain trademarks, logos or trade dress owned by others, or advertise or promote any brand or product of any kind, without permission, or contain any personal identification, such as personal identifying information including license plate numbers, personal names, e-mail addresses, telephone numbers or street addresses;
• Video cannot contain copyrighted materials owned by others (including photographs, sculptures, literary works, paintings, and other works of art or images published on or in websites, television, movies or other media or music or musical "samples" other than the musical tracks provided), or dramatic performances of copyrighted works or controlled by others, without permission;
• Video cannot contain materials embodying the names, likenesses, photographs, or other indicia identifying any person, living or dead, other than entrant, without permission;
• Video cannot communicate messages or images inconsistent with the positive images and/or goodwill to which BANSDC wishes to associate; and
• Video cannot depict, and cannot itself, be in violation of any law.

4. BY SUBMITTING AN ENTRY, ENTRANT ACKNOWLEDGES THAT HIS/HER ENTRY MAY BE POSTED ON BANSDC'S WEBSITE, IN BANSDC'S DISCRETION. BANSDC reserves the right to, and may or may not, monitor/screen entries prior to posting them to the Website. By entering, you acknowledge that BANSDC has no obligation to use or post any Video you submit. Submission of a Video grants BANSDC and its agents an unlimited, worldwide, perpetual, license and right to publish, use, and publicly perform the Video in any way, in any and all media, without limitation, and without consideration to the entrant or any other person who may have rights in the Entry.

5. BY SUBMITTING A VIDEO YOU WARRANT AND REPRESENT THAT IT: (a) is your original work, (b) has not been previously published, (c) has not received any previous awards, (d) does not infringe upon the copyrights, trademarks, rights of privacy, publicity or other intellectual property or other rights of any person or entity; (e) that you have obtained permission from a person who's name, likeness or voice is used in the Video (Click Here for a Sample Release Form) and (f) and that publication of the Video via various media, including Web posting, will not infringe on any third party rights. Any such entrant will indemnify and hold harmless, BANSDC from any claims to the contrary.
